Engagement GroupsStandOut DashboardDeployment Guide ReportingNew! Engagement Groups In our mission 🚀at StandOut to drive team member engagement, we’re committed to providing practitioners with a deep level of visibility into their organization’s engagement data to understand the health of their teams.  We’ve made many enhancements to Engagement Pulse reporting over the past year, and we’re pleased to take it a step further in this release with the introduction of Engagement Groups. Within Engagement Pulse reporting, practitioners will now see an option to view results by group, in addition to the existing views by team, audience, and employee. This new Engagement Group reporting gives practitioners a detailed look into the continuum of engagement in their organization, with people who are fully engaged at one end and people who are not at all engaged at the other. Here’s a video to learn more: Individuals will fall into one of four Engagement Groups: All In Positive Indifferent Not EngagedReport filters may be applied to dig down to a more granular level. This level of reporting is intended to help practitioners to identify and differentiate between the needs of team members in different groups so that they may be moved to higher levels of engagement. Engagement Groups What can you do with this data? Here are some suggested actions to start driving change:Look at the average response to each item for each group. Notice any patterns on specific items in the different groups. These patterns may give you clues about where to focus your attention. Decide in advance which EP items matter most to your organization. If those items are low for a particular group (or groups), start there to reinforce what's most important for your organization's mission, vision, values, etc. If you have no pre-identified items, start with some of the lower scoring items for the Positive group. Think in terms of incremental growth. Meaningful change can happen in a quarter, but lasting change tends to happen slowly, so it's okay if your All In group doesn't double in size overnight. It is realistic to hope for your Positive group to grow as the Indifferent and Not Engaged groups shrink. Small changes along the path can produce great results over time. Know that there's a wide variety in how people assess their own state of mind. Some people may never give the highest level of response. And that's okay. All In is great, but the Positive group is also a good outcome — people can be committed to their work at that level, too. If you focus on increasing the total % of team members in the All In + Positive groups, you will be on the right track. All users with current access to Engagement Reporting will be able to view Engagement Groups. A new “Engagement Pulse by Group” usage report will also be available with this release. The data and charts in this section will be exportable for easy sharing within your organization. And lastly, a “Learn More” button in the upper right corner provides additional details on data calculations, comparisons to other engagement metrics, and suggested actions the user can take. We encourage you to review this new reporting for your organization’s recent Engagement Pulse surveys to see where the groups differ in their item responses. This data may then be used to prioritize your efforts in ways that will make the most difference in moving the needle on engagement. 📈 ReportingEnhancement: StandOut Dashboard We’re pleased to unveil an area of StandOut that has been completely overhauled to bring you more metrics, graphics, and insights at a glance! 👓 Formerly known as the Executive Summary, the new StandOut Dashboard pulls together key metrics in one place to help you understand how your organization is adopting StandOut features. With redesigned card layouts and data visualizations, several brand-new cards, and additional data insights, it provides viewers with a high-level overview of how things are going before they dig deeper into the data found in the rest of StandOut Reporting. This new dashboard can be found right in StandOut Reporting and contains up to 8 cards (dependent on which StandOut features your organization is using) of data, insights, and comparisons:StandOut Dashboard Cards:Check-Ins Engagement Pulse Engagement Groups Assessment Completion Performance Pulse Celebrate Teams Team Activities ConversationsAnd that’s not all--it’s also filterable by audience and by quarter, so you can get right to the data you need. A toggle at the top of the page may be used to compare data with the previous quarter. Within each card you’ll see links to easily navigate to specific reports that are relevant to the card topic. Plus, the Check-In and Engagement Pulse cards contain “View Insights” buttons that provide visibility into even more granular and insightful metrics that capture the positive impact of StandOut at your organization.  StandOut Dashboard The StandOut Dashboard can be exported via the “Share” button at the top of the page to easily send to others in your organization to help them better understand the impact of StandOut and how they can directly drive engagement.  There’s a “Learn More” modal that explains the feature and data calculations in further detail. And administrators can provide others in your organization with direct access to the metrics they need to support StandOut adoption with Audience level access permissions to the dashboard. This new & improved dashboard is intended to reduce practitioner lift in sharing the good news of StandOut adoption throughout their organization, and we can’t wait to hear what you think! Please share which cards are your favorite in the comments below. 💬 We’re especially excited for the new “Celebrate Teams” card, which encourages recognition of teams that are using StandOut well and opportunities to learn from leaders of highly engaged teams. 🎉 AdminEnhancement: Updated Deployment Guidance Clients who are new to StandOut technology will have the ability to get their organization up and running on the platform on their own, thanks to a new Deployment Guide experience that is available with this release. New practitioners will receive access to two Deployment Guides, built right into StandOut Admin:Technical Guide: walks users through the technical setup of StandOut, including adding metadata, filtering users, adding users and teams, and reviewing user login information. Planning Guide: provides practitioners with the resources needed to plan a successful launch of StandOut, including communication templates, videos, training materials, and more. These new guides are intended to reduce client lift and streamline efficiencies so they can deploy as quickly as they’d like. Practitioners will be able to mark steps as “complete” to track their deployment progress, and they may go back and revisit steps at any point in deployment. And as always, clients will still have support from StandOut Client Success to help them with their StandOut strategy and adoption. 💞

See below for recent updates that better support practitioners in their understanding of engagement across teams and the impact of StandOut on your organization.đŸ’„Â StandOut Insights 📊 One of our most highly anticipated updates of the year was the introduction of StandOut Insights in the October release. This new feature analyzes StandOut data to create meaningful stories about your organization’s engagement journey, available in a ready-made presentation format. These stories can be easily shared with anyone in your organization, offering a simple and effective way to communicate the positive impact of StandOut so that you can do more of what’s working. Please check out the video below to learn more: Engagement Pulse Reporting Enhancements 📈Engagement Pulse Results Sharing: It’s easier than ever to share Engagement Pulse results with your team and other individuals across your organization, thanks to new sharing capabilities delivered in the January release.  A simple click of a button will deliver results to intended recipients via email and in-platform notifications. Leaders have been using this new capability to let their teams preview results prior to their debrief sessions and to share with other leaders and mentors. Here’s a video to learn more: Deactivated Team Engagement Pulse Responses: In December, we updated Engagement Pulse functionality so that members of teams that are deactivated mid-survey may still respond even though their team no longer exists, with their responses rolling up to organization-level reporting.  Supporting users on deactivated teams to have their voices heard will lead to higher response rates, resulting in higher quality data that is more representative of the organization and will better equip leaders to continue moving engagement forward. Engagement Pulse Debrief Tracking: With the October release, we introduced a new survey to measure the actions that team leaders are taking with their Engagement Pulse results. This enhancement was requested by several clients, who are now using the information provided to support their leaders in better supporting their teams. Engagement Pulse Debrief Tracking Engagement Pulse % Response Rate: In an effort to make StandOut reporting feel as easy as possible, we’ve added the % Response Rate to Engagement Pulse reporting--this was previously shown as a fraction only.  Engagement Pulse % Response Rate New Engagement Pulse Results Video: In October, we added a new video linked next to Overall Results on the Engagement Pulse page. This video walks leaders through how Engagement Pulse results are calculated and what they mean, providing helpful context as you consider your team results. Engagement Pulse Results VideoEngagement Pulse Usage Report Update: In March, we added two new data points to the Engagement Pulse Usage Report to support our newest Engagement Pulse reporting metrics and to help organizations better understand what leaders are doing with results: Date Viewed: the date that the Team Leader first viewed their Engagement Pulse results (subsequent views will not impact this date). Date Shared: the date that the Team Leader first shared a set of Engagement Pusle results with either their entire team or any individual (subsequent shares will not impact this date).  Chart Exports In March, we were pleased to deliver on a client-requested enhancement that makes sharing StandOut reporting within your organization even easier with the ability to export reporting charts. Charts from StandOut Reporting and StandOut Admin→ Engagement Pulse can now be exported as a PNG or PDF, so you can easily include them where needed to improve buy-in and make talent decisions. Chart Export capabilities Roll-Up Reporting Enhancements Our April release brought leaders of leaders even better visibility into engagement across their teams with the addition of team-by-team breakdowns of the Roll-Up Reporting metrics found in the Leader Summary. In addition to the aggregate view that shows Engagement Pulse scores and Check-In trends for all team members rolling up to them (their direct team + 1 level below), they can now see these metrics broken out by team, providing them further insights into how things are going. Additionally, there are convenient buttons built right into the reports, allowing leaders to “Request Engagement Pulse Results” from any direct reports who have not yet shared them, and “Nudge Team Leader” to encourage their direct reports to view available Check-Ins for their teams.Engagement Pulse Details CardCheck-In Submissions & Views Card Check-In Reporting Enhancements Our April release also brought StandOut practitioners several enhancements to Check-In Reporting to further support them in driving Check-In adoption throughout their organizations. New tabs were added within the Check-In Reporting section, showing new views of team leader Check-In Views & Attention. This improved visibility into Check-In metrics reduces practitioner lift needed to understand usage and attention across the organization, so you can focus your time less on data sorting and more on sharing out the many benefits of Check-Ins. Check-In Reporting enhancement  What a year! We’re excited to bring more enhancements your way in the coming months. As always, please let us know any ideas you have to help StandOut better support you!

We hope you’re enjoying our new Engagement Pulse Series. This month our focus is: In my team, I am surrounded by people who share my values. We’d like to know, what are your 2 most important professional values and how do you demonstrate them in the work you do each day? Check out the first two articles in the Engagement Pulse series here. 📈 ADP Research Institute’s latest edition of Today at Work explores the economic impact of remote work, AI, and more. 🏡  We’re proud to be a part of Hackensack Meridian Health’s StandOut year.Â đŸ’« Why Gen Z and young Millennials would rather be unemployed than unhappy. 🙁 How to stay strong even during setbacks. 🚧  StandOut Year in Review: Providing flexibility & automation to meet the unique needs of your organization StandOut clients span numerous industries, countries, and organizational structures. Every client that we work with is unique in so many ways, and we’ve released many enhancements over the past year to provide you with options for StandOut to best fit the needs of your teams. 💖 Please read on to review the latest options for customizing Engagement Pulse surveys, new ways to automate and schedule platform communications, and enhancements that connect you directly with the StandOut support that you’re looking for.  Additional Engagement Pulse customization 🌐 You’ve always had the ability to customize Engagement Pulse questions and specify which users you’d like to survey, and this year we introduced even more options to fit the specific needs of your teams. ✔ Flexible Engagement Pulse Window: The January release brought StandOut practitioners the ability to set globally launched Engagement Pulse surveys for the length of time that is ideal for their organization. While 14 days remains the standard that we recommend keeping most Engagement Pulses at, this new capability allows organizations the flexibility to adjust the survey length to 3 or 4 weeks, or select custom dates ranging between 14 and 30 days.  Flexible Engagement Pulse Window  Customized Engagement Pulse Debrief Questions: In an effort to help administrators procure the exact insights needed to understand the Engagement Pulse debrief experience across their teams, we introduced the ability to customize the Engagement Pulse Debrief survey questions back in January. These custom questions may be added as a direct follow up to the existing Engagement Pulse Debrief questions, allowing you to dig a little deeper into the team member and team leader experience.  Flexible options for Platform Communication 💌 In today’s world of work, schedules are more varied than ever, and we’re committed to ensuring StandOut users remain in the loop by delivering automated yet relevant information to your inbox during the timeframe that’s best for you.Â đŸ“©Notification Schedule:  In December we released new Notification Schedule capabilities, allowing you to select when you’d like to receive notifications from StandOut. Check out your User Settings to select the day(s) and times that you’d like to receive notifications.  Administrators are able to set organization-level notification schedules as well to align with business hours and work schedules; user-level settings will override anything set at the organization level.  Notification Schedule New User Intro Email: With the October release, we automated the process for letting new users know that they can begin using StandOut.  While in past it’s been up to the organization to send communication to users who have been added to the platform, administrators can now opt into using the New User Intro Email.  This automation reduces client lift and provides a consistent methodology for onboarding new users.  StandOut Intro Email Automation to connect directly with the StandOut Team 🗹 Have an idea? Need some help? It’s easier than ever to connect with StandOut on these things and more! 🙌 Product Ideation:  We love hearing product ideas directly from StandOut users; in fact, many of the release enhancements of the past year originated directly from user input! That why we’ve created a space within the StandOut Community specifically intended to facilitate meaningful conversations around future enhancements and user cases. Please go ahead and submit any ideas that you have, or log in to show your support for ideas that have been submitted by other users. Our Product and Community teams are regularly reviewing all ideas submitted to assist in roadmap planning. 💡 Help Button:  We’ve made it easier than ever to find the support you need with the addition of a new Help button, introduced in the January release. Once clicked, this button will serve up curated Knowledge Base articles that are relevant to the page you are on, plus a search bar for you to find additional content and navigate directly to the StandOut Community.  New Help Button Community integration with ZenDesk:  With the March release, we simplified the process for escalating bugs and issues that are reported within the StandOut Community through a new integration with ZenDesk. Users are now notified by Community moderators if their question is turned into a ticket and receive auto-generated emails when the ticket is created and routed to Product Support. They’ll then hear back directly from our Product Support team within 24 hours. No need to go chasing to multiple places; users now enjoy the convenience of StandOut support all in one place.Â đŸ’«Â Stay tuned for Part 3 of our StandOut: Year in Review series, coming in September!

See the results and learn more here and in the video below!    StandOut Year in Review: Helping you to infuse a Strengths Culture into your organization Building and maintaining a company culture that is truly centered on strengths often requires more than just launching the core features of StandOut. Platform adoption and a focus on strengths across all areas of work are key to achieving the cultural change that will maximize performance and drive high levels of engagement. Clients have shared with us their struggles in promoting a strengths mindset across their teams, and over the past year we’ve prioritized many new features, tools, and enhancements to address this challenge.  Please read on to see how we’ve added tools and functionality to help you quickly and easily share your strengths with others, more intuitively navigate through the different features within StandOut, strategize ways to promote a strengths culture, and help your users feel strong in using the platform. đŸ’Ș New functionality to share your strengths 📱 Strength Statement Builder: Identifying your strengths--those activities that you are good at and make you feel strong--is foundational to adopting a strength’s mindset, yet we don’t always readily know these details about ourselves. We introduced the Strength Statement Builder last August to help users quickly identify and precisely describe the activities that they love doing. This short video walks you through the details so you can update your Snapshot with the activities that you love. ❀ Strength Statement Builder Snapshot Sharing: Once you’ve updated your Snapshot with the above ⬆, it’s the perfect time to share it out with others. We’re adding some team-by-team breakdowns of the Roll-Up Reporting metrics found in the Leader Summary. Leaders will still have the aggregate view of results that they see today, and they’ll also have the new option to drill down by team for further insight. Here are the details:The Engagement Pulse Items card has been renamed Engagement Pulse Details. This card now has two tabs:The first tab shows Aggregates: this is the existing view, showing aggregate Engagement Pulse scores for all teams rolling up (as defined by their direct team + 1 level below) to a leader.  The second tab shows Team Details: this is a new view of Engagement Pulse scores broken out by team. Here are the deets: Team Details will only be available if the leaders of each team have shared their Engagement Pulse results with their leader. If Engagement Pulse results haven’t been shared, the user will see “Request Engagement Pulse Results” button.  Clicking this button will immediately send a request to the owner of the results for them to share the results with the user (their leader), which they can approve or deny.  If an Engagement Pulse is still open, scores in this tab will be replaced with a “Survey Still Open” message. Responses from an open survey will only be included in the aggregate scores when the survey has closed. If an Engagement Pulse has closed with fewer than 3 responses, the scores will be replaced with a “Not Enough Data” message. For these surveys with 1-2 responses, results will still roll into the aggregate scores.  If the ability to share Engagement Pulse results has been turned off for a leader, the scores will be replaced with a “Leader Cannot Share Results” message.  If there is no Engagement Pulse data for a quarter, then the card will have an empty state. Engagement Pulse Details CardThe Check-in Submissions & Views card has been updated to include an extended window of 8-weeks of data instead of the previously shown 4-weeks, and now also has two tabs:The Check-In Summary tab shows the aggregate trend of submissions and views data, now extended to an 8-week window. The Check-In Details tab shows a team-by-team breakdown of Check-In data by week. Users are able to click through 8 weeks of Check-In data to see team-by-team results.  This tab also includes an action column, allowing the user to “Nudge Team Leader” for any team where the Team Leader’s view rate is less than 75%. This new button will appear on Mondays (leaders can’t be nudged before then), and use of this nudge button is limited to once per week. When this button is clicked, the Team Leader will receive an email notification informing them that they have Check-Ins to view and a link to take them directly to their Team Check-In page.  Check-In Submissions & Views CardReportingEnhancement: Check-In Reporting Check-Ins provide the rich and frequent connection that is proven to increase workplace engagement, and we’re so pleased to deliver on client-requested enhancements to Check-In Reporting with this release. StandOut practitioners will have access to several new metrics to further support them in driving Check-In adoption throughout their organizations. With this release, the Check-In Adoption section of Reporting will show two tabs:The Team Member tab provides data that is based on individual Team Member submission frequency, and includes the existing 6 Week Summary of Check-In frequency donut chart and a NEW Trend Over Time line chart showing fluctuations in Check-In submission frequency over time. Existing filtering capabilities will still be available in this tab. The Team Leader tab provides new reporting based on Team Leader view of Check-Ins and attention. This tab offers filtering functionality that is consistent with that offered in the Team Member tab, and includes the following charts: NEW Team Leader Views:  Â đŸ© A donut chart view of the level to which leaders are viewing Team Member Check-Ins for a given set of filters.   📈 A line chart view of how this data fluctuates over time.  NEW Team Leader Attention: đŸ©Â A donut chart view of the level to which Team Members are reporting the attention they are receiving from their leaders.  📈 A line chart view of how this data fluctuates over time. Check-In Reporting Enhancement  The Learn More modal within this page has been updated to reflect these enhancements. All of the new charts are exportable, using the dropdown in the upper-right corner. The Team Check-In Adoption Usage Report has also been updated to reflect these changes. Teams of less than 3 will continue to show blank values in fields to protect respondent anonymity. This improved visibility into Check-In metrics will reduce the practitioner lift needed to understand usage and attention across the organization, so you can focus your time less on data sorting and more on sharing out the many benefits of Check-Ins.⭐ Team Check-InsNew! Shortcut to Our Check-In Partnership Conversation  In an effort to support Team Leaders in engaging in meaningful, strengths-based conversations with their Team Members, we’ve created a new launch card on the Team Check-Ins page that suggests launching an “Our Check-In Partnership” Conversation.  Not only will this card remind Team Leaders that this valuable, interactive Conversation is available to use, but it also provides a convenient and relevant way for them to launch it directly from the Team Member’s Check-In. 🙌 New “Launch a Check-In Partnership Conversation” card Clicking on the launch card will automatically take the Team Leader to the Conversations page and launch the “Our Check-In Partnership” Conversation modal with the Team Member’s name already selected. By creating this additional connection to the Conversation directly within the Check-In, Team Leaders can focus less on the platform logistics and more on having the deep and meaningful conversations that are necessary to drive engagement on their teams.  SnapshotNew! Shortcut to Role Reflect Conversation StandOut makes it easier for colleagues to connect with each other, starting from a foundation of how they naturally show up at work. A user’s Snapshot page contains so many valuable details, including their personal strengths, activities that they’d love to help their colleagues with, and how they work best.  By reviewing your colleague’s Snapshot, you’ll build an understanding of who they are and a foundation for positive workplace interactions together.  And now it’s easier than ever to take this understanding a step further with the creation of a new launch card on the Snapshot page that suggests launching a “Role Reflect” Conversation. New “Launch a Role Reflect Conversation” card Clicking on this launch card will automatically take the user to the Conversations page and launch the “Role Reflect” Conversation modal with the Team Member’s name automatically selected. Once launched, StandOut will send the Conversation template to the invited colleague.  Once both have completed the template, they’ll be prompted to schedule a conversation to discuss their responses and learn more, helping them to work together more effectively based on how they tend to show up at work.Â đŸ’«Â

This Help button includes a search feature and links directly into the StandOut Community, where users can ask questions and view the full Knowledge Base (you’ll need to log in to do this). At the time of this release, the Help Button is available in English only. By meeting you right where you are—in platform—with the additional content you may need, we hope our users will feel even stronger in StandOut! New Help Button ConversationsNew Features: New Interactive Conversations & Conversation Guide It’s no secret that workplace conversations are a clear path to connection. And the richer and more meaningful those conversations are, the deeper the feelings of connection will be. StandOut users have been loving the Conversations area since it was introduced back in May, and we’re pleased to introduce even more topics to support you in connecting with your leader and colleagues with our upcoming release.  Within the Conversations section of StandOut, users will see 2 new Interactive Conversations: Role Reflect will help participants to better understand each other based on their roles, and Check-In Partnership will help Team Leaders and Team Members to discuss expectations for this weekly ritual. These Interactive Conversations provide an in-platform experience that is similar to that of Milestone Connect: users will be guided to record and share answers to key questions with another user. Their responses will be visible to the person they are sharing with, unless they choose to mark them as private.  All questions are optional, and both participants will be able to edit their responses up until the Conversation is marked as complete. We’re also bringing you a new Conversation Guide, Exploring Your Opportunity, to facilitate discussions around career growth and development. Like the other Conversation Guides, users will be able to download this interactive PDF to facilitate meaningful conversation. ConversationsAll of these Conversations will be defaulted to ON for all clients, and these additional topics will be added to the Conversations Usage Report, allowing practitioners to quickly track who has and hasn’t completed them, while keepings the specific details entered into the Conversation confidential to the related participants. Engagement PulseEnhancement: Engagement Pulse Results Sharing Engagement Pulse results are delivered directly to the Team Leader, and while leaders have a significant impact on team engagement (StandOut research indicates up to 70% of employee engagement is due to the Team Leader), it’s also important for the full team to own responsibility for understanding the scores and taking steps to improve engagement.  That’s why we’re pleased to bring you new Engagement Pulse Results Sharing capabilities with this release!  Here’s a video to learn more:Team Leaders will notice a “Share Results” button has been added to the top right corner of their Engagement Pulse results.  From there, they’ll have two options for sharing:Sharing with Team: this delivers results to the full team.  It’s beneficial for the team to see these results in advance so that debrief conversations can happen in a more thoughtful and prepared way. Please note, once results have been shared with the team this cannot be undone. Individual Access: this allows the leader to select specific individuals to share with.  We recommend sharing with their leader, mentor, or colleagues who can support them in digesting the results and preparing for their team debrief. Shared access to individuals may be removed at any time.   Recipients of Engagement Pulse results will receive an email and an in-platform notification when results have been shared. They’ll see a Conversation Guide to help prepare for the team debrief conversation, and below the guide they’ll see full Engagement Pulse results, including a lightbulb icon next to each question that provides more insights into the question and what it means. With easy sharing capabilities, teams can now dive right into valuable conversations to help Team Leaders understand the trends and true meanings behind the scores, all leading to higher team engagement.  Engagement PulseEnhancement: Flexible Engagement Pulse Window Engagement Pulse data is key to understanding engagement trends in your organization, and this data becomes increasingly valuable the more voices that are heard. In an effort to provide the flexibility needed to accommodate varying needs across businesses, industries, and countries, we’ve created the capability for administrators to launch Global Engagement Pulses for durations beyond the standard 14-day survey window.  While we recommend keeping most Engagement Pulses at the standard 14 days, this new capability will provide options for organizations when they need it.  When launching a Global Engagement Pulse from StandOut Admin, practitioners will now be presented with a “Set Survey Window” option as the 4th step to launching the survey. From here, they can select if they’d like the survey to live for 2, 3, or 4 weeks, or select a custom Survey End Date that is between 14 and 30 days out (surveys may not live for shorter than 14 days or longer than 30 days).Flexible Engagement Pulse WindowThe Flexible Engagement Pulse Window capability will be defaulted to ON for all clients with this release.  Please consult with your Client Success Partner if you have questions or are considering extending the window of your organization’s Engagement Pulses. Engagement PulseEnhancement: Customized Engagement Pulse Debrief Questions We introduced the Engagement Pulse Debrief survey back in October, and this update is a fast follow-up allowing administrators to include customized questions in the survey if needed to achieve a more comprehensive understanding of the Team Leader and Team Member debrief experience.  Customize Engagement Pulse Debrief questions may be added by your Client Success Partner only as a direct follow up to the existing Engagement Pulse Debrief questions: administrators will indicate if the new question is based on existing Question 1 or 2, and which specific response should trigger this additional question.  Interested in adding customized questions?  Here are the deets: similar to the Engagement Pulse custom question functionality, the questions may be binary (yes/no), multiple choice, Likert scale, or open text and can have a max of 2,000 characters. Translations may be added in any platform language and must be provided by the client. Up to three custom questions each may be added to the Engagement Pulse Debrief Team Leader and the Engagement Pulse Debrief Team Member surveys, and they’ll appear below the core survey questions. Custom questions cannot be changed for any live Engagement Pulse Debrief Surveys, and any custom questions and responses will be added as additional columns in the Engagement Pulse Debriefs Usage Report. Please work with your Client Success Partner if you’d like to add customize questions to any upcoming Engagement Pulse Debrief Surveys. My SnapshotEnhancement: Snapshot Sharing Your Snapshot is a place to communicate to others how they can best work with you, what makes you feel engaged, and where your strengths lie. It’s a wealth of valuable information, yet in the past it sometimes felt like a hidden gem💎 within StandOut because it wasn’t the easiest for others to navigate to.  To solve for this, we’re adding a “Share” button to the top right corner of a user’s Snapshot page, which will allow them to easily generate a link to their Snapshot that may be shared with anyone in their organization. Snapshot SharingIf you share your Snapshot with someone in your organization that isn’t currently using StandOut OR is logged out, they’ll see a pre-login page that states “Users would like to share their Snapshot with you” and shows your name, avatar, StandOut Roles, and a link to log-in. Once logged in, they’ll be taken directly to your Snapshot. Users who are not within your organization and receive a link will not be able to access your Snapshot. Increased visibility to your Snapshot will make it even more likely that your team and colleagues will engage with you in ways that align to your strengths. So continue to share your individual strengths and skills in this space, and be sure to check out other’s Snapshots too; collectively this will make work an even more engaging experience for everyone.Â đŸ’«Â My SnapshotEnhancement: My Snapshot Rearrange You may have noticed in the above Snapshot image ⬆ that we’ve made some slight adjustments to the My Snapshot page.  We rearranged the furniture in a way that feels more consistent with other platform pages. The same content that you know and love is still there, just in a refreshed way: the first sentence of your Greatest Value Statement has been moved up to the header, right under your name, the Greatest Value section has been renamed “Roles at Work”, and sections have been shifted within the page. We hope you enjoy the new look! 💐 StandOut CommunityNew! Knowledge Base Mini-Videos We’re enhancing the Knowledge Base with new mini-instructional videos on frequently used features for you to reference when needed. Our first batch focuses on the StandOut feature that most directly improves team engagement: the Check-In. These videos are intended to be quick and easy resources to support you in StandOut. Click the videos below to learn more about Submitting a Check-In and Reviewing Your Team’s Check-Ins, and remember--these videos can be sent to anyone by simply sharing the link.Â đŸ“œÂ Â

Release 5.31 (December 2, 2023)

Hello, StandOut Community!Welcome to our final product release of the year. 🎀 StandOut 5.31 went live on December 2nd, and includes client-requested updates such as a new Notification Schedule and enhancements to the Conversations user experience. Please read on to learn about these updates and more!As always, you’ll be able to see what’s coming next for StandOut in our Near-Term Roadmap 🚗. đŸ’ȘđŸŒ Other fun strengths news for you this cycle includes: Gain a competitive talent advantage for your organization by getting in touch with your work force's state of mind.🔼 TMBC’s Vice President of Talent Insights and Innovation, Amy Leschke-Kahle, explains how to make culture unconditional.🌎 Student loan payments are back, and employers should care: Employers & Student Debt.💾Release Date: December 2, 2023Please note that these release notes delineate the items launched on the date shown above. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Client Success Partner or customerservice@tmbc.com. Click on the links below to jump directly to a specific feature:NEW Notification ScheduleConversations EnhancementsDeactivated Team Survey ResponsesUpdated StandOut Strengths Coaching Certification StandOut PlatformNew Feature: Notification Schedule StandOut serves users across many industries and time zones, so it only makes sense that the ideal time to receive StandOut notifications varies by user.  As a result, we’ve created new options for scheduling StandOut notifications to arrive when you want to receive them.  A new “Notification Schedule” section has been added within User Settings.  From there, users may select when they want to receive StandOut notifications: Anytime, Every Day, Weekdays, or within a specified Custom window. Once set, any notification triggered outside of your selected window will be sent during the next window of time that you have allowed notifications, with a few exceptions: Assessment Complete, Forgot Password, and Account Suspended notifications will still be sent immediately. This feature will be automatically available to all users with this release and can be set at both the user level and the organization level; user-level settings will override the organization-level schedule. The Notification Schedule will default to “Anytime”, meaning users will receive notifications when they are scheduled by StandOut or triggered by another user (for example, when an Engagement Pulse is launched). So please go ahead and update your User Settings so that you’re hearing from us at the time that is best for you. Notification Schedule ConversationsEnhancement: User Experience updates StandOut remains committed to building connection through Conversations, and we’re making a few enhancements to this area to further facilitate reflection and transparency in this process:Reflection Editing: Users will now be able to edit their reflection even after submitting a Conversation, allowing them to keep the Conversation updated with relevant information that they can refer back to, resulting in richer Conversations. Users will be able to edit their Conversation until it’s marked as complete, and the other party will be notified when changes are made. A “Last edited on” note will also appear at the bottom of the Reflection section to indicate when the latest change was made. 📝 Mark as Complete: We’ve heard from users that they were often forgetting to mark their Conversations as complete, or didn’t realize this step existed. To make this final step clearer, a new “Have you had this conversation?” notification will appear on the In-Progress Conversation tile (located both within the Conversations home page and Check-In page) and in-platform notification modal 14 days after both parties have completed the wizard, prompting users to either mark the Conversation “Complete” or indicate if they plan to “Do It Later”. If the latter option is selected, a second reminder notification will be delivered at 30 days.  Tracking Conversation completion will result in more accurate data and reporting, less confusion, and an overall better user experience. ✔ Engagement Pulse & Custom SurveysEnhancement: Deactivated Team Responses Engagement Pulse & Custom Survey reporting is intentionally aligned to Team Leader structure, since so much of engagement influence lies with the Team Leader. In the past, when a team has been deactivated (this occurs when a leader leaves) during a survey window, the Team Members who have not yet responded have lost the ability to respond. Yet it’s important that every voice is represented within the organization results, and so we’re updating this functionality so that Team Members will still be able to respond to a survey even if their leader has left. With this update, Team Members who are part of a team that is deactivated during the survey window will receive messaging to inform them that they may still respond to the survey even though their team no longer exists.  They’ll receive updated reminder emails too. The former Team Leader will not receive survey results, and any custom messaging that the Team Leader entered into the survey will be removed; custom messaging entered by StandOut admin will remain. Responses will roll up to organization-level reporting. This enhancement has been a longstanding client request that we’re pleased to deliver on. Supporting users on deactivated teams to have their voices heard will lead to higher response rates, resulting in higher quality data that is more representative of the organization and will better equip leaders to continue moving engagement forward.    Leader Development Enhancement: Updated StandOut Strengths Coaching Certification The StandOut Strengths Coaching Certification provides professional coaches with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to coach individuals from a strengths-based perspective. This newly revised certification includes a deeper exploration of our coaching model, and combines virtual classroom learning, 1:1 mentoring with a TMBC-certified coach, peer-to-peer coaching, and StandOut tools and resources for becoming a strengths-based coach.

In-platform and email notifications will also be sent whenever new stories are generated.By now you’re probably wondering: what is a StandOut Insights story? Stories are presented in an interactive slideshow format, with text content that is specifically curated based on data scores. With this release, two StandOut Insight stories will generate for qualifying organizations:Why Leader Attention Matters: You’ve likely heard from us the importance of Team Leader and Team Member connection. This story shows the correlation between Team Leader attention and engagement within your organization. Percent Fully Engaged Deep Dive: Engagement is a movie, not a photo: it’s always shifting and changing. This story dives into how your organization’s latest Engagement Pulse results may have changed since your last set of surveys. And it includes a brand-new metric called Engagement Stability, which shows employee-level engagement over time. Both stories begin with a summary of StandOut adoption metrics and then dive into data and key findings that tell a meaningful story and wrap up with recommendations for what’s next. All stories have a shareable link and PDF option; no additional permissions are needed to view them, so you can easily share throughout your organization. StandOut Insights: Engagement Stability StandOut Insights access will be defaulted to ON for all clients with this release. So please check it out and share with others in your organization! We hope this is a helpful tool in communicating the bigger picture of your organization’s engagement.  Engagement PulseEnhancement: Engagement Pulse Debrief Tracking The Engagement Pulse survey is a quick and reliable way to measure engagement across teams, but to truly impact engagement it’s critical that Team Leaders act on the results. We’ve heard from some clients that it would be beneficial to be able to track which leaders are following up with their teams to have conversations around Engagement Pulse results, and as a result, we’re pleased to bring to you the new Engagement Pulse Debrief survey.   When turned on, an Engagement Pulse Debrief survey will go out to all Team Leaders one week after an Engagement Pulse survey closes. Team Leaders will be prompted to share if they met with their team to discuss the recent Engagement Pulse results and if they found that discussion to be a good use of time.  It the Team Leader responds that they did meet with their team, an Engagement Pulse Debrief survey will then be sent to their Team Members with similar prompts. Practitioners will be able to track survey responses in a new Engagement Pulse Debrief Usage Report found in the Reporting section of StandOut. Engagement Pulse Debrief Tracking Please connect with your CS partner if you’d like to turn the Engagement Pulse Debrief survey ON for your organization. They’ll be able to configure how long you’d like to allow users to respond: 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks.  Survey reminders will go out to anyone who hasn’t yet responded 21 and 14 days prior to survey close (if the survey is open for that extended length of time), as well as 4 days prior to close for Team Leaders and 3 days prior to close for Team Members.   Assessment OnlyEnhancement: Coaching.com Integration We’re partnering with Coaching.com to provide non-enterprise Assessment takers with the opportunity to better understand their Assessment Results by connecting them with 3rd-party StandOut Debrief Certified Coaches via the Coaching.com platform. As of this release, free Assessment takers will see a button to find a coach on the interface where they receive their Assessment results. StandOut CommunityEnhancement: Product Ideation 🔬 Fun fact: several of the updates within this release are the direct result of user ideas. We love hearing product ideas from you--our users, so we're experimenting with a new space within the StandOut Community to facilitate meaningful conversations around future enhancements and use cases. Please visit this space when you have a new idea for a StandOut enhancement or feature. 💡Community members will first be asked to search to see if their idea has already been submitted: if it has, you can upvote and/or add a comment to indicate your support. If you can’t find an existing submission for your topic, you can select Submit an Idea.  From here, you’ll be asked to clearly define the use case or business problem that is not met with current functionality. Once these details are entered, just click SubmitYour idea will be reviewed regularly by our Community and Product teams to determine next steps. All ideas will be weighted using parameters including number of votes, complexity, impact, reach, and strategy alignment—we’ll regularly update your submission to indicate where it falls. Your ideas make our platform awesome, so please keep ‘em coming; we're committed to partnering with you to hear what you'd like to see next! Check it out here! StandOutNew Feature: Intro Email In the past, when new StandOut users have been added to an organization’s user file, it’s been up to the organization to let them know that they can begin using StandOut and how to log-in.  We’ve automated this process so new users can now receive an email right from StandOut. This enhancement not only reduces the lift required of the client sponsor, but also creates a consistent methodology for onboarding new users.  StandOut Intro Email This feature will be available to all clients at the time of this release, with the addition of a “New User Intro Email” tile in the User Management section of Admin.  From there, you’ll be able to select when you’d like to begin delivering automated emails to new users, language preferences, and any custom messaging you’d like to include about why your organization is using StandOut. Once activated, all future users will receive this automated email within approximately 24 hours of being added to StandOut. Engagement PulseEnhancement: % Response Rate In an effort to make StandOut reporting feel as easy as possible, we’ve added the % Response Rate to Engagement Pulse reporting.  Previously leaders saw the Response Rate reported as a fraction (i.e., 9/9 Team Members Responded), and now the % is shown too.  Because really, who wants to do math?Â đŸ€“Â Engagement Pulse % Response Rate Engagement PulseNew: Engagement Pulse Results Video Team Leaders will notice a new video linked next to Overall Results on the Engagement Pulse page. This video walks leaders through how Engagement Pulse results are calculated and what they mean, providing helpful context as you consider your team results. Engagement Pulse Results Video

Yet for many of us, it’s not so easy to just rattle off the list of things we do that bring us joy. We’ve created the Strength Statement Builder to help users quickly identify and precisely describe the activities that they love doing. Because the sooner you know what your strengths are, the sooner you’ll be able to articulate them to colleagues and put them to work to find love in your job.Watch this short video and read on to learn more: The Statement Builder provides detailed, step-by-step guidance for crafting a statement that will speak to your inherent strengths. It will be located on the My Snapshot page, right above the Come to Me When section.Strength Statement Builder in My SnapshotIn the Strength Statement Builder section users will first see a box encouraging them to get specific about their strengths.  When they select “Let’s Go”, they’ll be asked “Do you want to walk through building a Strength Statement or write it yourself?”: I’ll Enter it Myself:Users who select this option are presented with an example Strength Statement and then prompted to select a verb and enter details clarifying the subject, audience/team, and objective of their strength. Walk Me Through It:Users who select this option will see a series of screens similar to the “I’ll Enter it Myself” option shown above and will also have options to select if the subject or topic matters, if it matters who the activity is for, and if it matters what the objective of the activity is. Their Strength Statement will be automatically adjusted based on the responses to these prompts, creating an even easier user experience.  Due to the complexity of certain language structures, the “Walk Me Through It” option is only available to users who have their platform language set to English.Strength Statement Builder While it’s critical to know and articulate your own strengths to find a path to love at work, it’s also important to recognize other people’s strengths so that you can help them shine. Users will be able to see what Strength Statements others have shared by searching for them in People Search and clicking on their Snapshot. You also may notice that Strength Statements share some similarities with Come to Me When Statements; both are places for users to share activities that they love doing. The difference is that Strength Statements are enduring—they should capture those strengths that you’ve always had, that follow you throughout life and across jobs. Come to Me When Statements tend to capture the here and now; they are reflective of the tasks and responsibilities that you enjoy in your current job. That’s why we’ve created the option to make Strength Statements public OR private, allowing users to document even those strengths they’d rather not share in their current job.  Strengths Statements are defaulted to ON and users will see an in-platform notification that this new feature is available. Like Come to Me When statements, Strength Statements will remain in the language you created in them in; no automatic translation will occur. So give it a try! Maybe you struggle to identify what your inherent strengths are, and the Strength Statement Builder will help you to identify those hidden loves. Or maybe you’re a strength superstar with a long list of strengths, and the Strength Statement Builder will help you to more precisely define and focus on those activities that are best for you.  Either way, the Strength Statement Builder has something for everyone who seeks a better understanding of their red threads.  ConversationsEnhancement: Magnet Healthcare Peer Connect Enhancement A common enhancement request that we’ve heard from our healthcare clients is to evolve StandOut to enable supporting their work towards Magnet compliance. Magnet Recognition is a major badge of honor, and to remain compliant, healthcare organizations are required to establish a formalized peer connection system for their nurses. We’re so pleased to introduce a solution with this release that can allow our clients to satisfy this need directly in StandOut and do it through a strengths-based lens. These users will now be able to launch, complete and track completion of their Magnet peer connect conversations using the same Conversations hub as Milestone Connect. As Magnet conversations are for peers, nurses can select any other StandOut user in their organization to connect with. Peer-to-Peer Connect Conversation This specific Interactive Conversation will be defaulted OFF for all clients, and our Client Success team will work with existing healthcare clients to determine plans for turning the feature on.Once launched, the Peer-to-Peer Connect Conversation will guide both participants through a simple, action-oriented conversation about the strengths and development opportunities of the Peer Requester. Once both parties have completed the reflection, they’ll advance to the conversation itself. They’ll be able to view both their responses and those of their colleague and will be provided with a conversation guide and space to record actions taken away from the conversation. After they’ve connected, both parties will be able to mark the Peer-to-Peer Connect Conversation as complete. StandOut practitioners will be able to track completion with a new “Peer-to-Peer Connect” filter in the Conversations Usage Report. It’s a simple process to facilitate a strengths-based conversation, all while helping organizations to remain Magnet compliant. StandOut PlatformEnhancement: Canadian French Language Users who have their preferred platform language set to Canadian French may notice some text changes in StandOut.  We’ve worked with localization experts to understand how these users would appreciate seeing things worded and have updated language throughout the platform accordingly. 🍁

Interactive Conversations: Users are guided through an in-platform experience to record and share answers to key questions. The first Interactive Conversation is Milestone Connect, which prompts Team Members and Team Leaders to discuss recent wins, challenges, and the future. Milestone Connect builds upon the weekly Check-In, but with a longer focus and deeper dive, allowing Team Members to be seen in a more meaningful way. Those who have used Milestone Connect in the past will notice that it’s moving from the My Check-In page to Conversations Home with this release. Anyone who prefers the PDF Milestone Connect experience will still be able to access it via the Resource Hub. Interactive Conversations 2. Conversation Guides:  Users will be able to download new interactive PDF guides to assist them in having meaningful conversations. Conversation Guides may be used offline, and some even have links that will take users to other relevant sections of StandOut.  This section will grow over time, and with this release we’ll have Conversation Guides available covering three topics:Our Check-In Partnership: Facilitates a conversation between a Team Member and Team Leader to examine what’s working well and what they may want to adjust in their weekly Check-Ins. Understanding Our StandOut Roles: Guides a discussion through which users can dive deeper in their StandOut Roles and identify how Roles show up in their work.  Connecting with Colleagues: Provides conversation starters to get to know someone in a new way focusing on strengths and StandOut Roles.Conversation Guides 3. In-Progress Conversations: This section shows all Interactive Conversations currently in-progress, which are also visible on the My Check-In page.  If you’d like to close a Conversation before it’s completed, click on the drop down and select “Archive”. This will move the Conversation to the Conversations History section, where it will no longer be editable.  The other person involved in the Conversation will receive a notification of this change. In-Progress Conversations4. Conversations History: All inactive (completed, archived, etc.) Conversations will be shown. Users will be able to view the detail page of the Conversation and download a PDF. Visibility is consistent with Milestone Connect in that Team Members will be able to view content they’ve entered but not content entered by their leader, while Team Leaders will have visibility into all content submitted.Conversations HistoryConversations will be defaulted to “On” for all clients who use Check-Ins. It can be easily found on the Top Navigation panel of your StandOut homepage. Users will see an “About” modal the first time they land on the page, containing details to introduce the feature. If you’d like to turn Conversations off, or turn off just the Interactive Milestone Connect section, please connect with your Client Success Partner. A new Conversations Usage Report will be available with this release, providing practitioners with the ability to quickly track who has and hasn’t completed Conversations, while keeping all other content entered confidential to the related participants.Conversations Usage ReportWith the creation of the Conversations homepage as a centralized location for all In-Progress and Completed Conversations, we’re adjusting some of the notifications previously used within Milestone Connect. The email notification that users previously received once they completed their portion of the Milestone Connect Conversation, providing a link to the detail page, is being removed. Users will now be able to easily access their Milestone Connect details within the Conversations homepage. Additionally, when users click on an Archived notification in the platform they will now be conveniently routed right to the Conversations homepage. StandOut ProfileEnhancement: Profile picture shortcut Looking to update your StandOut Profile Picture?  It’s easier than ever with the addition of a camera icon right on the StandOut home screen, providing another way to make this change. Profile pictures can still be updated from the My Snapshot page too, and clicking on your picture (not the camera icon) will still take you right to My Snapshot—no changes there.Camera icon added for Profile Picture changes StandOut AssessmentEnhancement: My Standout Report We’re making a few visual enhancements to the My StandOut Report area of the desktop platform.  You’ll still have access to all the same insightful information, just with a new look and feel: the purple banner across the top has been replaced with a new starry background, and the “My Pins”, “Download Report”, and “About My StandOut Report” links have been adjusted to be directly below the heading.  SnapshotEnhancement: Come To Me When Statement guidance Existing guidance for the Come To Me When Statement area of the platform is being updated to help differentiate this feature from the upcoming Strengths Statement Builder.Previous description: Offer your strengths to the team by describing activities that invigorate you at work. New description: Which skills and talents would you like to offer up to your colleagues? Let everyone know!Accessibility updateEnhancement: Default branding color We’re updating our default branding color to add more contrast for accessibility purposes. Clients who do not use custom branding may notice this change to a slightly deeper shade of blue, shown below. StandOut branding color update Leader DevelopmentNew Feature: StandOut Team Member Certification  We have a new certification program that will train facilitators to deliver a 90-minute (in-person or virtual) version of StandOut Team Member: a compact and engaging introduction to StandOut’s core strengths concepts. This certification is conducted virtually, in four 2-hour sessions, and is available to any TMBC clients or independent practitioners who have completed the StandOut Debrief Certification as a prerequisite.
