Power of Teammate Connections Teammates can make or break your work experience, with significant impacts to engagement, performance, and team morale. In 2024, the StandOut Research Team embarked on a continuation of their journey to better understand the importance of teammates in the day-to-day experiences of people at work. The findings from this project offer empirical evidence that both reiterates the importance of team leaders and celebrates the importance of teammates. The insights gleaned from this work will help leaders to increase their positive impact on their direct reports, and to empower team members who wish to better support their teammates. 👍 The purpose of this general population study was to investigate the unique ways that one’s teammates can add positive value to their experiences at work, both in place of and in addition to the team leader. This study is unique and valuable as it is the first project we know of that focuses specifically and intentionally on the many ways that interactions and relationships with teammates (or, in other words the quality of connection with teammates) effect engagement and the overall experience of work. 💫 Positions Enhancement: Position Paper: Building Connection through StandOut With this release, we’re updating our Building Connection through StandOut Position Paper , which captures details about how people can use StandOut to build connection — to their own work, to their coworkers, to their team leaders, and to their organization.
