Engagement Pulse

New feature! Engagement Pulse Intelligence

The beauty of the Engagement Pulse survey is that it puts the power of understanding team engagement directly in the hands of those who can most impact it: team leaders. With this release, leaders will now have access to even more of this crucial knowledge with the introduction of Engagement Pulse Intelligence. This new feature will help leaders understand their team’s engagement data in a more insightful way that is both encouraging and supports incremental positive change over time.

What’s changing? The Leader Tools→ Engagement Pulse results page is being redesigned and will feature the following:

  • An Engagement Pulse Intelligence tile will be prominently located near the top of the page to walk leaders through key findings within the survey data.
  • Engagement Groups are being introduced as a new metric for team leaders to help them understand the continuum of engagement on their team. Previously accessible to practitioners in StandOut Reporting, this metric identifies individuals by four levels of engagement: all in, positive, indifferent, and not engaged.
  • Reporting on Fully Engaged and Overall Engagement are moved down slightly on this page to make room for all this new intel. 📊

Research
New resource! Effects of Leader Engagement

Employee engagement is based on the cumulative nature of all that they perceive and experience within their organization, their team, and the work that they do. We’ve been talking for years about the significant impact that team leader’s have on engagement: in fact, leaders account for 70% of the variance found in engagement scores. With this release we’ll be sharing new research that further explores this relationship and includes findings that highlight the direct relationship between a TLs engagement and that of their direct reports, both at a single moment in time and over time.

Research
New resource! Engagement by Team Size

Did you know that employee engagement is influenced by team size?

Engagement is complex and must be thought about in the context in which it happens, which includes organizational, team, and individual influences. Nearly two decades of research demonstrates that of these contextual factors, the size of a team is one of the most consistent and powerful predictors of whether team members will be Fully Engaged (when all other factors are held steady). This brief summarizes research that illustrates three key findings: (1) in the absence of meaningful intervention, engagement tends to remain consistent over time; (2) as team size increases, it becomes increasingly difficult for a high percentage of TMs to be FE; and (3) frequent TL attention can lessen the negative effects of team size on engagement by more than 50%.

Research
New resource! Power of Strengths: The Undeniable Relationship between Strengths Use and Engagement

The importance of strengths in the workplace is an integral piece of the StandOut philosophy and approach. It is by leaning into strengths that people find the most fulfillment in the work they do, a key variable in the equation of workplace engagement. This research leaned into both general population and StandOut user data to examine the nature and direction of the strengths use-engagement paradigm from an empirical perspective. This brief summarizes new data-based evidence of the importance of leaning into one's strengths and its impact on engagement both "in the moment" and over time. 💫

Research
New resource! Engagement by Tenure

Get ready for a new research-backed reason to take extra care of your new hires. 💞  We’re introducing new research showing that engagement is not consistent throughout team members time with organizations. It is important for organizations to understand the general relationship between engagement and tenure in general, and endeavor to also understand what that relationship looks like within their own company. This study summarizes the downward trend in engagement that team members experience during their first two years with a company, highlighting the fact that engagement begins to decrease within only months of joining a new organization.

Engagement Pulse

Enhancement: Engagement Pulse Team Leader Email Reminders

Engagement Pulse participation is crucial to ensuring results are representative of the full organization.  To help drive responses, we’re introducing new email nudges that will be delivered to team leaders who meet one of the following criteria:

  • No team members have responded to their team’s open Engagement Pulse
  • They lead a team that is 1 response away from achieving 100% response rate
  • Two team members on their team have responded, and thus they are one response away from qualifying for Engagement Pulse results.

Leaders who meet the above criteria will receive an email directly from StandOut at both 7 and 2 days prior to their team Engagement Pulse closing. The email notification will include a link that the leader can easily share with their team to encourage each and every team member to complete their Engagement Pulse before the closing date.

StandOut Platform

Enhancement: Multiple Log-In Options

Users whose organizations are set up with SSO (Single Sign On) Log-In will soon also have a new option to log-in without SSO if they choose, making the platform more easily accessible for those who are not provisioned with SSO log-in credentials.
